The Bok Center is pleased to introduce the Teaching Certificate Program for graduate students across FAS. Building on the existing workshops, seminars, and teaching practicums offered through the Bok Center, the Teaching Certificate offers graduate students and teaching fellows a tangible marker of their ongoing development as teachers in higher education. The Certificate is structured to give participants the opportunity to critically reflect upon their performance as teachers and to actively experiment with various modes of communication in lectures, seminars, labs, and across the academic profession. Certificate participants will be asked to: reflect on their classroom practice through a video taped or peer-viewing session, complete the equivalent of two Bok Center seminars, and create a portfolio of teaching materials (including a statement of teaching philosophy). See our website for certificate requirements, upcoming seminars, nano-courses, and workshops, and start working towards your Teaching Certificate today!
